New wedding invite design

18Jun10

Here are some images of a new bespoke wedding invite design from Ambigraph. The design was informed by an ongoing interest in botanical and scientific illustration coupled with the fact that the wedding is being held at Kew Gardens. We even sourced a set of first class stamps celebrating Kew’s 250th anniversary to keep the whole package in theme.

Due to the small quantities and numerous designs we opted for digital printing, especially as the quality of the printer at Darwin Press is pretty amazing. You would be hard pushed to tell the difference from offset litho, and the toner has a slight sheen that has helped to pull the illustrations forward. Additionally it’s cheaper and less wasteful. Gold gilt edging on the cards and the foil blocking on the band gives them a classy but subtle edge.
